Medium Date Framed Size Image Size
Ink on Paper Mid 1970s 12-3/4”H x 10-1/8”W 6-3/8”H x 3-3/4”W
One of the most beautiful and often told Greek myths. It is a tale of self-search and of personal growth through learning, losing, and saving real love.

From Michael Babcock: “It is exciting to see this pen and ink sketch as it is one of the earliest pieces Susan did of her beloved myth of Psyche and Eros. She would later use this myth as a representation of her inner world and as a way to gauge her own personal development. This sketch was a birthday card for Marita Kallfelz. (Marita’s name appears within the design). It’s possible that this image was a study for an oil pastel that Susan did in 1975. The strong figure in black, contrasting with the white space on the rest of the piece is unique among Susan’s work.”

This original work has been re-framed with an antiqued, textured, “silvered”, custom wood frame. Archival triple-matted with a black core paper top mat. Acid-free materials throughout and re-glazed with Museum conservation, Tru-Vue, UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon-Boulet, lower-right. Undated.
